Jupiter Wagons’ energy arm JEM Energy has secured a contract from Uttarakhand Power Corporation for a 41 MW/102.5 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS), valued at around ₹100 crore.
JEM Energy, in partnership with Madhav Infra Projects, emerged as the lowest bidder under a competitive tariff mechanism. The scope covers the supply and commissioning of the project.
The company has also received a Letter of Award from West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company for a 50 MW standalone BESS project, expanding its utility-scale energy storage portfolio as India ramps up renewable energy integration.
The projects align with the Union Cabinet-approved Phase III of the Green Energy Corridor, aimed at strengthening transmission infrastructure and supporting the integration of renewable power into the grid.
